SAGEEP 2024 Abstracts/Sessions

Call for Abstracts

You are invited to submit an abstract for presentation at the 36th Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP).  Return to this page often as Special Sessions are being convened and presenters will be able to submit papers to these sessions during the online abstract submission process.

The Technical Committee has added a special session "Induced Polarization in Mining, Engineering, and the Environment."  As part of the 36th annual Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP), a special session on Induced Polarization will be offered. This session seeks submissions to honor the 30th anniversary of the "John S. Sumner Memorial International Workshop on Induced Polarization (IP) in Mining and the Environment." Presentations should focus on novel applications and research surrounding the successful implementation of IP in mining, engineering, and environmental applications.

Induced Polarization Special Session Presentation Award and Travel to Lund, Sweden
The best presentation by a student or early career professional (within 7 years after last degree) will be selected. This award includes free registration to attend the 7th International Workshop on Induced Polarization, an invitation to present and a $1,500 travel grant provided by award sponsors Ontash & Ermac, Inc. The 7th International Workshop on Induced Polarization will be held in the heart of Lund, Sweden, 28-30 MAY 2024  (https://portal.research.lu.se/en/activities/7th-international-ip-workshop).

The abstract submission site is now open. The deadline for submitting abstracts is 22 Dec. 2023. All abstracts must be submitted via the submission portal. The Scientific Committee will peer-review all papers before final selection.

Abstract Submission Guidelines
All authors will submit a short abstract summarizing their work (short abstract format template). The abstract should be limited to 1-2 paragraphs. You also have the option to submit an extended abstract. Authors may (optionally) submit extended abstracts and if you are interested in submitting an extended abstract, please contact the meeting chairs for submission and formatting instructions or view extended abstract template

Authors using the online submission site should be prepared to upload their abstracts (Word document) and pay the submission fee with a credit card ($50).  (Your SAGEEP 2024 registration fee will be reduced by $50 upon registration.)  If you have restrictions relating to the use of credit card payments, please contact [email protected] to discuss alternative payment options.

Please contact the meeting or technical chairs if you are interested in serving as a session chair and/or select "Yes" when asked whether you'd be willing to serve as a session chair during the abstract submission process.

SAGEEP is a premier international conference focusing on the near surface. It’s where practitioners, academics, consultants, students, and government representatives gather to hear presentations or view posters representing the latest in new approaches and methods, in environmental and engineering geophysics.

Entry to the United States
If you are from a country that requires a visa to enter the U.S., please ensure that you start the process of obtaining any required travel documents sufficiently early to be able to attend the meeting. You may also contact the EEGS business office ([email protected]) for assistance with Letters of Invitation.
