Virtual Training Course

GAINS, an EEGS Member benefit, is a virtual training course designed for those looking for an introduction or refresher on practical applications in engineering and environmental geophysics. 

2024-2025 GAINS Schedule
On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the EEGS' Education Committee introduced the new GAINS program by hosting the first 2-hour virtual Training Module.  Subject Matter experts presented modules on such topics as: 

• Non-destructive testing
• Permafrost characterization
• Karst mapping
• Survey planning
• Dams and levees
• Hydrogeology ... and others.

2026 GAINS Schedule

Beginning January 14, GAINS will begin offering its 2026 presentations.  EEGS' Education Committee is finalizing the roster of topics and Subject Matter Experts and will announce the day/times soon.  The final module will be held at a SAGEEP 2026 event (March 15-19, 2026) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA.
