SAGEEP 2025/Munitions Response Meeting Abstracts/Sessions

The Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS) and The National Association of Ordnance Contractors (NAOC) are collaborating to host the 37th Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP) and the 3rd Munitions Response Meeting (MRM), April 13-17, 2025, the “must attend” meeting of spring 2025 - participants will pay one conference fee and attend both meetings’ sessions and poster presentations.

This international conference is where practitioners, academics, consultants, students, and government representatives gather to hear presentations or view posters representing the latest in new approaches and methods in environmental and engineering geophysics and munitions detection technology and guidance and regulations related to explosives safety and quality procedures for munitions response.

Call for Abstracts

Online Abstract Submission Site Open!

You are invited to submit your abstract to the 37th SAGEEP/3rd MRM conference.  The SAGEEP 2025/Munitions Response Meeting online abstract submission process requires a $50 submission fee to be paid via credit card. (If you wish to pay the fee by check, contact staff at [email protected] to arrange.) Only one payment per person is required for those submitting multiple abstracts.

You will have a choice of three topic category types: General, an abstract that is neither a Munitions Response category nor a Special Session; Munitions Response-specific abstracts and finally, those that are being submitted to a Special Session. Before submitting your abstract online, please review the session topics (see below) to select the category that best matches your oral or poster presentation topic.

Short abstracts should be a 1-2 paragraph Word document. If an extended abstract submission is preferred, use the extended abstract template https://www.eegs.org/sageep-2025-abstracts-template.

Deadline to submit abstracts: December 16, 2024.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

All authors will submit a short abstract summarizing their work (short abstract format template). The abstract should be limited to 1-2 paragraphs. You also have the option to submit an extended abstract. Authors may (optionally) submit extended abstracts and if you are interested in submitting an extended abstract, please contact the meeting chairs for submission and formatting instructions or view extended abstract template

Authors using the online submission site should be prepared to upload their abstracts (Word document) and pay the submission fee with a credit card ($50).  If you have restrictions relating to the use of credit card payments, please contact [email protected] to arrange alternative payment options. (Your SAGEEP 2025 conference fee will be reduced by $50 upon registration.)

Please contact the meeting or technical chairs if you are interested in serving as a session chair and/or select "Yes" when asked whether you'd be willing to serve as a session chair during the abstract submission process.

Entry to the United States
If you are from a country that requires a visa to enter the U.S., please ensure that you start the process of obtaining any required travel documents sufficiently early to be able to attend the meeting. You may also contact the EEGS business office ([email protected]) for assistance with Letters of Invitation.

The Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society (EEGS) is an applied scientific organization founded in 1992. With the mission to promote the science of geophysics especially as it is applied to environmental and engineering problems; to foster common scientific interests of geophysicists and their colleagues in other related sciences and engineering; to maintain a high professional standing among its members; and to promote fellowship and cooperation among persons interested in the science.

The National Association of Ordnance Contractors (NAOC) was established in 1995 as an industry trade association representing over 80 companies who perform munitions response services, both in the United States and internationally. NAOC’s membership collectively provides the full spectrum of munitions response services, including munitions detection, management, and disposition; site characterization and remediation; geophysical surveying and data analysis; environmental sampling and analysis; regulatory support; research and development; and related environmental/ engineering services.
