FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

The Department of Defense’s (DoD) Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) is seeking to fund environmental research and development proposals. The Program invests across the broad spectrum of basic and applied research, as well as advanced development. The Core SERDP Solicitation provides funding in varying amounts for multi-year projects. Proposals responding to the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 focused Statements of Need (SONs) will be selected through a competitive process.  Separate solicitations are available to Federal and non-Federal proposers.  All Core Solicitation pre-proposals are due to SERDP January 5, 2017 by 2:00 p.m. ET.  The SONs and detailed instructions are available on the SERDP website.

SERDP also will be funding environmental research and development through the SERDP Exploratory Development (SEED) Solicitation.  The SEED Solicitation is designed to provide a limited amount of funding (not to exceed $200,000) for projects up to approximately one year in duration to investigate innovative approaches that entail high technical risk or require supporting data to provide proof of concept.  This year, SERDP is requesting SEED proposals for the Munitions Response program area. All SEED proposals are due March 7, 2017 by 2:00 p.m. ET.  The SONs and detailed instructions are available on the SERDP website.

SAGEEP 2017 Abstract Deadline Nearing

The deadline for SAGEEP 2017 abstract submissions has been extended to November 14 to allow for synchronization with NGWA's revised submission schedule.  The 30th Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems (SAGEEP) will be held concurrently with a National Ground Water Association meeting (March 20-21).  Be sure to visit SAGEEP 2017 - new items being added regularly - and learn about the abstract submission process at Annual Meeting/SAGEEP 2017/Sessions/Abstracts.
