Site Geophysicist

Parsons provides mission critical solutions to the US government. Our landmark planning, environmental, engineering, construction, and facility operation programs have supported federally-funded chemical weapons demilitarization, military installations and ranges, space exploration, missile defense, aviation, and sustainability programs. Our services also support homeland security initiatives and reconstruction efforts after man-made or natural disasters.

Project:
Parsons has been retained by the Department of Defense to conduct remedial investigations and cleanup activities at military bases and instillations with the United States. These efforts pertain to locations that were used for munitions and explosives training, storage, and disposal activities. Our scope entails planning, investigation, fieldwork, data collection, and deliverable production.

Need:
As the geophysicist, you will be responsible for providing excellence in analyzing geophysical data and writing report documents to meet client deliverable formats. To conduct the geophysical evaluations, the successful candidate should be familiar with EM61-MK2, G-858, and/or RTK GPS sensors. In addition to these skills, you will be involved with all facets of these projects including safety, cost control, schedule, deliverables, fiscal responsibility, and contractual performance. Given the nature of the work, this position must be performed in accordance with strict governmental and safety requirements. The assignment requires 30 to 50% travel and can be based in Denver, CO; Norfolk, VA; Huntsville, AL; or Orlando, FL.

Requirements:
- 2 to 5 years of conducting geophysical studies
- Proven abilities to analyze data and produce well written deliverables
- Current OSHA 29CFR, 1910.120 HAZWOPER certification
- Proficiency in Geosoft’s Oasis Montaj software
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, geophysics, or related degree
- Proof of US citizenship or permanent residence
